At Ride & Ridden, we produce appellation-driven wines that consistently transcend the expectations of their price points. We are able to do this thanks to our unique access to a rarefied tier of wine growing partners. We make wine honestly, source the best wines we can find, and employ a minimalist approach to growing, blending, and bottling. We touch every price point, creating wines of precision, power, elegance, and zero pretentiousness. All of this defines our mission: democratizing deliciousness.
Decades of Friendship
Art & Wine
Ride & Ridden is the product of a unique collaboration between industry veteran and founder David Green, and renowned Texas-based artist and photographer Steve Wrubel. Meeting in their early twenties, it wasn't until 2021 that their professions, and passions, merged. This collaboration of art and wine has produce a wine that embodies pedigree without pretense. Through meticulous sourcing and world-class winemaking, Ride & Ridden offers a diverse portfolio of Cabernet wines that are both high-quality and approachable.
The Rodeo
The Spirit of the West
Since his first inspiration to jump into the world of rodeo photography in the summer of 2019, Steve Wrubel has put over 30,000 miles on his pickup truck. Through this journey of preserving these rare moments, Steve has found an artistic peer in both the cowboy and the winemaker. For the cowboy it is to keep and contain a once wild beast just long enough for a thrilling eight second ride. For the winemaker it is to bottle the essence of the humble grape and its terroir. Showcasing and preserving the most perfect stages of its life.
rodeo & wine
a perfect blend
To what extent is it possible to contain a beast, refine a fleeting moment, or bottle the essence of a grape? They will always retain elements of the untamable wild within them. That is the spirit of the American West. Understanding and sharing this spirit is our life’s work. Joined together by an overarching philosophy, this unlikely kinship of seemingly disparate disciplines come together to create Ride & Ridden.
Featured Riders
Hailing from a legendary rodeo family, Rocker has created a legacy of his own since his world record-setting rookie year. A two time NFR Qualifier (and counting), Rocker finished 2023 as 5th in the world standings. At the first rodeo Steve photographed in 2019, Rocker was competing at just 15 years old and was Steve's first subject for his western art series. The generosity of the Steiner family gave Steve the introduction to the world of rodeo and the other riders who adorn our subsequent varietals.
Steve met Cole at the Steiners' ranch in 2019, and was immediately struck by the 4 time NFR Qualifies and multiple time #1 in the world standings. This Wyoming born and bred rider now lives and trains in Texas, where he spends his free time hunting elk, deer, and hogs.
Tim is a legend in the rodeo world and is one of just a handful of cowboys to have won the world title three or more times. He hails from Iowa and above all valiues family, God, his cattle, and - very fittingly - red wine. It was in the hot summer of 2022 in Montana when Time asked Steve "Hey Wrubes, what do I have to do to get on a bottle of your wine?" All he had to do was ask, we're honored to feature him.
This 3 times NRF Qualifier and multiple time world #1 is also a top team roper and will continue to compete in that sport once he hangs up his spurs on his bucking career. Leighton is a true cowboy, who has been roping calves for hire since he was single digits and loves to hunt and drink wine with his wife Kodi Anne.
